A Relationship Between Cats and Dogs

The signals and behaviors that cats and dogs use to communicate are different and can lead to signals of aggression , fear, dominance, friendship or territoriality being misinterpreted by the other species. Dogs have a natural instinct to chase smaller animals that flee, an instinct common among cats.

You can see here the relationship of the cats and dogs. We knows that cats and dogs are best enemy. But I presented to you that they are also friends with each other.

Conflicts arise between cats and dogs because they see the world differently. “The cat tries to get away, the dog thinks the cat is inviting it to a game, and so chase ensues with neither party understanding what the motivation of the other one is,” says anthrozoologist John Bradshaw. When they do get along, however, it’s best friends forever! From comforting each other in an hour of need to sleeping and playing together – these animal friendships between dogs and cats are more adorable than ever.
They also love being together.

A dog and a cat may develop a close friendship, sharing a bed, eating each other’s food, and playing together, or they may develop a grudging respect and just stay out of each other’s way. They learn about the other through experimentation and observation.

Sometimes a cat and a dog will become instant friends, often they will develop a tolerance of each other over many years and occasionally they can’t even be in the same room together. Just like with kids, sometimes a little bit of coaxing and a touch of manipulation is all that is needed to help them make friends.
